Technoseum

back to overview

The State Museum for Work and Technology in Mannheim is remarkable for a number of reasons. It is remarkable for its architecture, the work of the Berlin-based professor Ingeborg Kuhler. Completed in 1990, this completely white building is considered pioneering in modern museum construction. The sloping floors give the impression that the building itself is in motion. The idea behind this is of a “working” museum that invites visitors to take a stroll through the history of industrialization in southwest Germany.
